Today's dinner

I had to make the best of some leftovers in my fridge because I didn't go shopping two days in a row. I found some slices of pork and eggs in it. "Umm...let me think."
Although I'm not good at cooking, I love to challenge myself to try new things. I used eggs and bread crumbs, and then! My kids love them. The vegetable inside is called "Okura" in Japanese.

The English is nearly the same -- okra. Here in the US it's not as well-known as it should be, but it's not unusual to find it in vegetable soup. Sadly, because of its reputation as simply a soup ingredient, many never try it any other way and miss out on experiencing the wonderful flavor frying brings out. I love fried okra and have introduced some of my friends to it, and they're always surprised by how delicious it is. I'm glad your kids love it too!

challenge a new thing -> challenge myself to try new things / to do something new.

Hey Emi
I do no believe you are not good at cooking.
The pictures you have listed in this blog are very nice.
Listen. My boy and my husband both complain about my cooking ability...(sigh)
Sincerely
Yuko

You seem to be familiar with Japanese food! I'm so glad to hear you say it. My son doesn't like "okra" but he never complains about my cooking. ;-)
And thank you again for your correction. Let me rewrite!

You think so? You're very kind! My husband says my cooking is improving. He also says my cooking was awful! Actually, I'm with him. I had never cooked before I got married. XD
