I saw this movie many years ago, and I completely lost the detail of its story line. This is a story about "destined love" that has never been forgotten. One day, an American guy met an attractive British woman in a gift shop. They immediately felt something special each other, but unfortunately they had already someone special. He wanted to know her name, but she insisted on waiting and seeing how the wind blew. He did as she asked, but ironically they missed a chance to get together. Time went by and he was about to marry a new girlfriend, and his "destined love" was showing up again...

I'm a bit skeptical about "destiny," but actually I'd like to believe in "destined love." How do you feel about the idea that we are born to see someone? Wonderful, don't you think? Every single event has a meaning in our lives, and all of encounters are necessities to us. Making a complaint, dwelling on our past, envying someone's luck, what a waste energy they are when it comes to our limited lives.

Hi Emi,
I think I watched this movie, too, but what I remember well is not the plot or the actors and actresses. When I first read the title "Serendipity", the word itself fascinated me. For some time after that, whenever I came across the word, I remember I was riveted to it in books or magazines. I haven't got any chance to use it myself yet, but rich vocabulary in English language always interests me and keep me going.

To Kim

Rich vocabulary in English language always interests me and keep me going.

I feel the exact same way as you do! I'm not good at memorizing, so I often have trouble learning new words and expressions! I need to read more for my study...
