Sweet Gifts

Here in Japan, we have a unique custom on Valentine's Day; girls have a chance to show their love to boys. First and foremost, they need to buy chocolates. Sweets can talk. Boys love sweets.
I used to give chocolates to cute boys when I was a child, of course, but now just buy some for my husband, my son, and my daughter. This year, I bought a dog-shaped chocorate for my son. I expected to see his delighted face; however, he ate it in a second without enjoying it! I should've known that: boys will be boys.

Did your kids give someone sweets? Is it too early? When I was a child, Valentines Day was when the girl give sweets to the boy she likes. But now, it's different. My girls had to make sweets for many friends. Besides, oldest kid had to make for senior(senpai) too. Kitchen was occupied for a long time. Though they enjoyed cooking, I felt that it's like an obligation. There was no boy my kids gave sweet.....

Wow! It's a cute chocolate, isn't it! How about your husband? You've told me he loves chocolate, so I'm sure he was pleased with your "sweet" present. ;D In the meantime, my husband seldom eat sweets, so I gave him sliced raw fish what we call "sashimi". lol

I asked my daughter whether she had someone in her mind, but her answer was "No..." I guess "No..." is a little bit different from "No." She just tried to keep it away from me, I suppose. XD
Many school forbid bringing chocolates these days. It might be hard for my daughter to show her feelings with sweets now. (^^)

My husband is a sort of chocoholic, as you know, so I thought he might not need to have another special one on Valentine's Day. I changed my mind at a sweet shop because I saw his sad face... He got two chocolates from me. XD

Ha ha. Your son sounds like someone that I can get along with. Despite not being a boy, I sometimes lack the sensitivity that normal girls have. But I'll leave that till another time.

I've heard about the Japanese traditions when it comes to Valentine's Day. It's certainly unique and different from what we have here in NA! Hopefully I'll really be able to go to Japan one day and learn about all the cultural differences. :)

School has been quite hectic for me, and it's not till now have I finally realized that people were right when they told me the second year in college is definitely more difficult than the first. Especially when I have to declare my major soon. I'm definitely nervous about it. Hopefully I'll be able to get accepted despite being such a slacker, ha ha.

Till next time then! Take care!

Thank you for your comment. XD
My son is like his father, actually. They are not good at making a compliment even when they need to do... However, to me, they are quite easy to be with. You could say I'm like them.

I wanted to go to college, so I envy you in a way. You can study every day because it's your current task. Of course, there must be other things that make you annoyed, but once you start working, you rarely have a chance to study. Take care of yourself and please enjoy your life you have now, Summer. Time passes so quickly. I'd like you to let me know your college life!
